Come join us in September for an "out-of-this-world" experience with our very own rocketry enthusiast Jordan Whyte, former member of the Canadian Association of Rocketry. This is a very rare opportunity to become immersed in the world of sport rocketry. Our workshop has been divided into a series of hands-on classes that will have you learning intermediate rocket building techniques of the pro's along to help you design your very own re-usable rocket from scratch. All supplies, construction materials and equipment needed for your rocket build will be made easily accessible. As an added bonus, state-of-the-art sensor technology will be available for the gathering of data on your rocket flight which can tether to your smart phone using Bluetooth technology. In addition, we will be including UBlox GPS/GNSS tracking with the long range - low power and license free radio system which can be used to locate your rocket using real-time satellite data over kilometers of distance. We will be using both single use and re-loadable rocket motors using commercially manufactured Ammonium Perchlorate composite propellant (APCP).
This event is open to both Makerspace members and members of the general public.
