This is a course on how to use Inkscape for laser cutters and CNC machines

Instructor: Andrew Deelstra

Inkscape is a PC program that is often used for laser cutter projects and would also be useful for CNC projects. Here are topics that will likely be covered:

  • Objects, paths, and text
  • Node editing
  • Fill and stroke settings
  • Grouping, alignment, layout
  • Boolean operations
  • Miscellaneous setup/preferences
  • LightBurn integration/workflow (assuming most people will also use Inkscape for laser cutting. I have yet to use the CNC software so I’m not sure how that will work)

The class is free. In lieu of a class fee, participants are encouraged to treat the instructor with a snack, beer, or drink.

What to bring:

  • computer with a mouse. There are 2 windows PCs in the classroom that could be used, but they are located in the corners which are not ideal situated for viewing the TV.
  • warm clothes, including a toque.  Makerspace is unheated.
